If you're looking for pictures, click on Pictures on the sidebar. 2009-2010 Wrestling 6 Wrestlers place in the Top 3 at Regionals!!! On Saturday, February 6th, The R-B wrestlers participated in the 2A regionals at Fenton High School. The team finished 3rd behind Montini and Fenton. Individually, the Bulldogs did well. Juan Gomez Velez finished 1st by pinning both opponents. Chris Russell (140) and John Schraidt (285) finished 2nd. Mike Abbatacola (103), Keegan Buttimer (112), and Eduardo Orihuela (125) finished 3rd. All six of these wrestlers will compete this weekend at Fenton H.S. in the sectional. The top 3 placewinners at each weight will make it to the state tournament in Champaign on Feb. 19th and 20th. Good Luck Bulldogs!! 5 WRESTLERS PLACE AT BUFFALO GROVE INVITE! On Saturday Dec.12th, the Bulldogs traveled to Buffalo Grove for the annual Rex Lewis Invite. 5 wrestlers placed for RB in what was a tough tournament filled with 3A opponents. Leading the way was Juan Gomez Valez who won the title at 189 lbs with 2 pins and a decision. John Schraidt(285) and Jim Silva(215) both took 2nd, and wrestled extremely well for the Bulldogs. Mike Abbatacola(103)wrestled tough all day and came home with a third place medal. At 112 lbs., Keegan Buttimer bounced back from an early defeat to take 4th place. Overall, it was a good day for the team. Thursday is a huge day for the Bulldogs as we take on the Bison of Fenton, a matchup that has crowned the conference champ the past 6 seasons, with Fenton winning all 6. Wrestling begins at 5. Please come out and support the bulldogs as they try to unseat the 6 time defending conference champs! Bulldogs beat 2A ranked Glenbard South!! The bulldogs wrestled 5 dual meets this past weekend (dec.4th and 5th). The Highlight of the weekend was a 35-21 upset of 2A ranked Glenbard South. Overall, this weekend was successful but the young Bulldogs will continue to work hard to improve as the season progresses. Here is a recap of the entire weekend. LET"S WRESTLE! Season begins this week with three duals. Tuesday Nov.24, the Bulldogs will host Zion-Benton and Guerin Prep in the main gym. Wrestling begins at 5 p.m. On Wednesday the 'Dogs will travel to Morton to take on the Mustangs. This is always a fun night for the wrestlers and fans. The meet will take place at Morton East (25th and Austin) in Cicero. Wrestling begins with the lower levels at 5p.m. and the Varsity to follow. Our age group program, the BWC will also wrestle that night against the little Mustangs from Morton. Come out and support the Bulldogs! Thanks to all the parents and supporters who came out to the Blue/White on Saturday. Our junior Bulldog wrestling program, the BWC is actively seeking new members.
