The Bulldogs will also be losing 8 seniors from this year's team. All of them have experience a great deal of success in the Bulldog basketball program. They have been a part of many wins and have all worked hard. However, most of all they are all outstanding young men, with high character, that will all be successful in whatever they decide to do in life.
Nick Arias played some important minutes this year and had a very solid two-year varsity career for the Bulldogs. He is still trying to figure out his college decision.
Mike Hansa also had a very solid two year varsity career for the Bulldogs. He always had a positive atitude and worked real hard. He is more than likely going to attend Northern Illinois University.
Christian Hitt was a tremendous teammate. Christian always gave it his all and always had a positive attitude. Christian has a few highly selective colleges that he is deciding between.
Mark McDonagh is a tremendous leader and tremendous teammate. Mark always gave it his all and earned some very meaningful minutes this year. Mark is still deciding which school to attend and whether or not he wants to continue his football career.
Sean McGonagill had an outstanding 3 year varsity career. He has scored over 1000 points in his career and has led the Bulldogs to the best two year stretch (46-9) in school history during his junior and senior years. He has won numerous awards and will be sorely missed. It is safe to say Sean is one of the best players to ever play basketball at Riverside Brookfield High School. Sean will be continuing his basketball career at Division 1, Brown University in the Fall.
Matt Meindl suprised a lot of people this year and earned his way into the regular rotation. His athleticism and defensive ability were outstanding. Matt is also a tremendous golfer and is looking forward to playing golf at North Central College.
Terrence Reed improved as much as any player we have had in the program over the past four years. Terrence was all-tournament at the Jack Tosh Xmas Tournament. He was a tremendous shot blocker and defensive presence inside for the Bulldogs. He will be missed and is deciding between a number of Division 3 Colleges to continue his basketball career.
Billy VandeMerkt is also a three year varsity starter and has been a huge part in the recent success of the Bulldog basketball program. Billy is a great leader and always guarded the other team's best player. His toughness and leadership will be missed. Billy is deciding between a number of different colleges, in which he will continue his football career.
